Stephan Wellnitz ist Praktiker, er kommt aus dem Rheinland und verbringt viel Zeit mit seiner Frau dort und in seiner zweiten Wahlheimat Hamburg. Die Möglichkeit Solarenergie auch mobil zu nutzen, begeistert ihn schon seit seinem Studium der Elektrotechnik und hat auch den Weg in sein Hobby des Wohnmobilreisens gefunden. Schon seit fast zwei Jahrzehnten setzt er Projekte mit Solarenergie um und reist heute völlig autark mit dem Reisemobil, das er bei Reisepausen als Solarkraftwerk für ein Haus mit Solarstrom nutzt. Mit viel Erfahrung und Wissen um vermeidbare Fehler sowie vielen Tipps für interessierte Laien und auch Neuem für alte Hasen gibt er sein Wissen in einem ersten Buch weiter. Er gibt Orientierungshilfen zu Kaufentscheidungen, zu fundierten Planungen und zur praktischen Umsetzung der mobilen Nutzung von Solarenergie in Booten, Reisemobilen, Campern oder für Fahrrad- und Rucksackreisende.
