Mr. Coleman grew up on a farm in Oregon. There He lived until He joined the US Navy. His poem writing started while stationed in Cuba, during the Missel's of October, the most notable poem titled "Here's To You America" was read by Paul Harvey on some of his news casts in 1976 for America's Bi-Centennial Fourth of July Celebration. This poem was also narrated by Mr. Coleman at Oregon's Bi-centennial city's celebration in 1976. Mr. Coleman has been an inspiration to others by receiving the Presidents gold award two years in a row, volunteering more than 4,000 hrs. a year in community service. Mr. Coleman was chosen to audition for the TV show, "You Can Be A Star" hosted by Jim Ed Brown. For his voice and songs, he had written. Recently he was interviewed by Mr. Al Cole on his "People of Distinction" radio show.
