To add to a special curiosity for ancient Pueblo pottery, Anita Alverio traveled this ancient region. She wanted to learn as much as possible from unoccupied pueblos, mesas, and canyons about the daily life which encouraged the pottery. Anita came to the Southwest quite late, introduced by Eric Davin, who grew up in Phoenix and spent time as a park ranger at Wupatki National Monument. Together they have explored a number of areas in Arizona and New Mexico independently, and briefly in the Four Corners, including Colorado and Utah on two guided tours. Learning about the area has enhanced her appreciation of the varied artistic expressions in both ancient and contemporary pottery.
