Conducted a fundamental scientific search in the direction of implementation of the risk-based approach (RBA) framework at high-risk facilities in Ukraine (first of all, at nuclear power and industry facilities). The necessity of transition from the concept of absolute safety to ROS was substantiated. It is a transition to methods of safety management on the basis of analysis and risk assessment as a quantitative characteristic of danger for people and environment from functioning of increased danger object. Safety management is carried out by regulating the level of risk, which at this stage of development society agrees with. The history of ROS implementation in Ukraine, in particular in its nuclear industry, is described. Introduction of ROS at nuclear power facilities in Ukraine began in the 90s of the last century after the Chernobyl catastrophe.We analyzed the experience of foreign countries in the field of practical application of the EPR in the production sphere. It is based on the implementation of the EU directives (Seveso III - Seveso III) into the national legislation of different EU countries. The book can be useful for postgraduate students, students and specialists from the field of safe operation of nuclear facilities.
