The ongoing growth of technology has necessitated the use of more simpler and efficient systems as a replacement to the existing ones. Radio frequency identification is the most popular technologies of this decade. It is mainly termed as Auto-Identification technique for human or object identification. Auto-Identification techniques involve no human intervention of object identification. It is more widely used to facilitate common day-today activities due to new developments in processing. RFID readers and passive tags will be used in this project for self issuance of books by the patrons and for the security check out and drop box. A drop box is a new idea that that can be used during off hours of library. In future perspective, this project can be used at library management system for a large range of books plus the shelf management option can save the precious time of staff and its anti theft purpose and also can be used in the labs for securing the precious lab apparatus.

Mr. Ubaid has completed Electrical Engineering from BAHRIA University Pakistan in 2011. His work on RFID was the promoting RFID Technology in Pakistan specially in libraries. He is now pursuing master in Engineering Management from Muhammad Ali Jinnah University Pakistan. He also work as Managing Director in QWIKLY.
