The vertebrate fauna in view of their wildlife importance is higher than that of the invertebrates. Of the 2700 species recorded from the state that comprise 1007 species of invertebrates and 1694 species of vertebrates. In this book an attempt was made to give the whole picture of butterflies of Karnataka state so that the new researchers should get the basic information in one single stretch and save their valuable time rather than searching different scientific communications.
