Resilience and academic success were examined within a foster care group that had never been studied before in the literature. The group examined was Bermudian adolescent foster care children in the Public School System and their perspective on how resilient they were and how this could be influencing their reading and math ability. The results revealed a positive relationship between resiliency and reading.

Dr Zina Zuill is married to Anthony Zuill and has one son. She is the Assessment & Counseling & Life Skills Clinical Supervisor at the Department of Child and Family Services in Bermuda. Her interest is resiliency and its impact on children inthe foster care system. Dr Zuill has a PhD in counselling psychology. Her hobbies are reading & travelling.
