Richard J. Lewis, Sr. is a chemist with over twenty years of experience in air and industrial pollution measurements, industrial hygiene research, and toxicological and chemical information systems. He served as Manager of Information Services for the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH). Mr. Lewis co-authored several major works with Irving Sax, including Dangerous Properties of Industrial Materials, Seventh Edition. His most recent books include Food Additives Handbook, Rapid Guide to Hazardous Chemicals in the Workplace, Second Edition, Carcinogenically Active Chemicals, and Hazardous Chemicals Desk Reference, Second Edition.
