Judy Totts is a lifelong resident of Medina County. She is dedicated to local history, and has a strong relationship with the Medina County Historical Society as well as a number of township historical societies. Her history column has successfully run twice a week for the last 15 years in the Medina County Gazette. Recently, she has collaborated with a local theater company to produce monologues for historical characters that she created as special feature of her column. These productions have been performed at historic sites throughout Medina County. In 2007, she received the Northrop Heritage Award from the Medina County Historical Society, of which she is a member, for her contributions to local history. As a features writer and columnist, her work has been recognized by The Associated Press of Ohio and the Religion Newswriters Association.
