Over the last few years, research on Tissue Engineering/Regenerative Medicine has increased exponentially, and there is a strong need to share experiences between the scientific community. The main objective should be translate the research from "the benchtop to the bedside", with maximum biosafety conditions. This book, therefore, intends to show years of experience in the application of Regenerative Medicine/Tissue Engineering techniques in three distinctly different instances: wound healing, chondral repair and development of a bioartificial liver device. All of them were developed by using cells from different tissues, isolated and cultured in different conditions. The Laboratory of Epidermis Culture was the first in its type in Argentina, created on the Benaim Foundation s facilities, for the treatment of severely burn patients. On the other hand, the bioartificial liver device, that was the subject of my doctoral thesis, was carried out at Hospital Italiano de Buenos Aires. At last, the culture of human chondrocytes associated to a biological membrane is performing at Fundación Biotar with the aim of its implantation for the treatment of chondral lesions in a near future.
