A poetry collection focusing on what it is to become a 'Real Grown-Up Woman' in the twenty-first century. Each poem is a reckless navigation through the obstacle course of a modern twenty-something female with such hurdles including dating, cancelling plans and the vagina's varying PH levels. A mix of sex and social inabilities, Samantha Boarer's poetry will woo you, make you feel uncomfortable, but will never leave you feeling unsatisfied. Presenting self deprecating humour, this collection turns serious situations on their heads to reveal the absurdity of it all. Autorenporträt
Having grown up on the mean streets of the English Riviera, Samantha Boarer started her poetry career in the internationally acclaimed post of Poet Laureate of Knowles Hill Secondary School. From there she migrated to Bath, where she studied creative writing and found her calling as a comedy poet. After co-founding Rhyme and Reason poetry events in Bath she moved to Bristol and began performing regularly in the South West. Having recently moved back to Devon, she intends to carry on funding her bohemian lifestyle by teaching impressionable youth at a local secondary school. Her (informal) research into what it means to be a 'real grown-up woman' inspires her to share her experiences with others in the hopes of helping them feel that they are not alone.
