This book is intended to give an insight into the Reactive Distillation Process. While the technical advances and efficiency improvements in specific unit operations are occurring all the time, the big story is the hybridization of the processes. Combining individual unit operations, such as reaction, separation, heat exchanger into larger concurrent operations will be a major trend in upcoming years. As we all know that separation is one of the biggest concerns in case of the chemical process industries. The products that we get from the reactor are always in the impure form and hence the separation has an important role to play. That is why it will be always a major cause of concern for the Engineers and the Scientists to have the processes that are energy efficient and cost-effective.Distillation is one of the most widely used separation processes, but the separation of azeotropic or constant boiling mixtures is difficult with ordinary distillation. Reactive distillation is a relatively new separation process where both the reaction and separation are made to take place in the same apparatus and hence making it economically viable as well as increasing the yield of the products.
