This piece of work targets at how to manage water resources, particularly the rainfall in central high of Ethiopia. It is believed to assist rain-fed farming and soil and water management in the central highlands of Ethiopia. As rainfall is one of the most important sources of water in Ethiopia, proper and wise use of the same is fundamentally important in agriculture. To this respect, , analysis of the hydro meteorological variables has been considered as one of the techniques by which water resource optimization could be achieved. For instance, the analysis result of the present study clearly shows that the amount of precipitation in the months of July and August is relatively excess that proper water harvesting practices can be recommended for this particular area. Therefore, one can make use of the hydro meteorological variables for planning purposes, if proper analysis is followed.
