This collection is a melting pot for varied art forms of poetry including prose, spoken word, rhymes etc. and is vibrant with deep truths, stark naked realities, messages of liberation, gripping tales and an intricate weave of scriptures to communicate its main theme - a call for Christians as God's covenant people to 'arise and shine, for your light has come and the glory of the Lord is risen upon you, for behold the darkness shall cover the earth', just as rainbow - God's covenant in flood - emerges in the sky reflecting the shining sunlight through the onrushing rain. Four sub-themes, however, resonates from this overarching theme: firstly, there can be no shining outside an intimate relationship with God, secondly, it does not seem to be an option for Christians to want to shine, it is included in the full package of salvation, thirdly and perhaps hard to swallow, trials and tribulations are active ingredients used in polishing the lustre of the precious metal of faith. Lastly and not to suggest the least of the themes, it is apparent that our light only glows brightly in deep darkness when we meet the needs of others. How all these are expressed in poetry is left for you to find out, as you peruse through the pages of this book.
