Load flow analysis helps in the computation of voltages at each node and currents at each branch but the load flow methods used in a power transmission network may not work efficiently in distribution networks due to the high resistance to reactance ratio. Load flow analysis helps in the computation of voltages at each node and currents at each branch but the load flow methods used in a power transmission network may not work efficiently in distribution networks due to the high resistance to reactance ratio. In this project, Improved load flow method is proposed for a Radial Distribution System. This method is derived from the concept of the conventional Backward/Forward Sweep method based on Kirchhoff's laws. The proposed load flow method is easy to implement and doesn't require the use of complex renumbering of branches and nodes. The effectiveness of the proposed method will be tested on IEEE 15 Bus system using MATLAB/SIMULINK.
