This research proposes an artificial neural network(ANN) to improve optimized OCR response time to short circuit fault in radial distribution network in order to address miscoordination problem due to wrong response time among adjesent over current relay to the same fault location. The test system comprises of 21 buses, 12 out going lines, two transformers and 18 over current relays. The extracted data from three phase short circuit fault analysis applied in numerical optimization of TMS, Plug setting multiplier and operating time over current relay.
