The upbringing of a child should be done with tender affection because the possibilities for the future are endless. Yes, there will be challenges along the way, but every human life must be nurtured and cherished. The upbringing of a child should be done with tender affection because the possibilities for the future are endless. Yes, there will be challenges along the way, but every human life must be nurtured and cherished. Now, imagine a little girl with a loving family; perhaps one that is a little idealistic but one that we all hope for. A mother who teaches her daughter that anything is possible, mentors her as she transitions through life and provides her with the 'something old, something new, something blue' on her wedding day. A father who loves his little girl and treasures her for her curiosity to learn, encourages her to challenge stereotypes and teaches his daughter about how young men should behave in the early dating scene and throughout a strong marriage. Where siblings squabble and grow to appreciate one another. A family who has the glue that keeps them balanced in times of instability because of their deep love for one another. I wish this was Deborah's story. It is not. What is amazing about this story, is that regardless of Deborah's horrific childhood and a lack of strong role models, Deborah has learned from her own journey.
Autorenporträt
Deborah Kinisky is proud, blessed and thankful to live in Edmonton, Alberta with her loving husband, youngest son, 2 four-legged DOGhters while her eldest son loves her from afar in the U.K. She loves to spend down time with her family playing board games, taking road trips and snuggling with her doghters. She has many passions and hobbies in life but photography and being a culinary enthusiast would be her top two which means in her spare time you can find her with a camera stuck to her face or in the kitchen with flour on the tip of her nose. She was always an avid reader and writer at heart who should have been a statistic but rose above the adversity and is here to tell you about it. Making the choice in 2007 to attend NorQuest College instead of partaking in an illicit lifestyle empowered her to transform her way of learned behavior she refers to as living under a purple sky. In 2015 she decided to share her traumatic and healing journey by way of publishing a memoir HerStory- Victim to Victorious which is a raw depiction of abuses and triumphs throughout her life. Her main goal is to help others in their journey of healing through self-awareness. She proudly is an honorary alumni member at NorQuest College who has spoken at a Fundraising breakfast in 2010 and Human Library in 2015 and most recently at the International Women's Day Celebration in May of 2016.
