JAMES EDWARD OGELTHORPE was the founder of the colony of Georgia. RODNEY M. BLAINE (1913-2000) was a distinguished eighteenth-century studies scholar and professor in the English department at the University of Georgia. He is the author or editor of several works, including Thomas Holcroft and the Revolutionary Novel, A History of English Poetry, and The Publications of James Edward Oglethorpe. ELI ARNOLD is library director and university librarian at Oglethorpe University.
