This study evaluated the chemical constituents and antimicrobial activity of Psidium guajava essential oil. The essential oil (OE) was extracted by hydrodistillation, with chemical characterization through Gas Chromatography coupled to mass spectrometry (GC-MS). Antimicrobial activity followed the methodology described by the Clinical and Laboratory Standards Institute using the Disk Diffusion Method, Broth Dilution for Minimum Inibitory Concentration (MIC) and subsequent Minimum Bactericidal Concentration to evaluate the action of EO against pathogenic bacteria. Produktbeschreibung
The OE's presented bactericidal potentials against the microorganisms tested, showing satisfactory results for their action. The results indicate that the evaluated EO is composed of substances that promote and encourage its application due to its potentials for antimicrobial biological activity.
