In Proud Patrick Peacock and Other Stories, Sue Ellis presents six funny, modern fables from a 'bird's-eye view', each one set in her favourite places in Great Britain: Arran, Coniston, Liverpool, York, Sheffield and London. In Proud Patrick Peacock and Other Stories, Sue Ellis presents six funny, modern fables from a 'bird's-eye view', each one set in her favourite places in Great Britain: Arran, Coniston, Liverpool, York, Sheffield and London. She hopes to inspire children to overcome life's difficulties and become the best versions of themselves through wise choices, just as the birds do in the book. Children will find delight in these tales about 'quirky birds with attitudes' and parents, grandparents and teachers will love sharing them too. Teachers will be glad to know that this book complements schools' Personal, Social and Health Education (PSHE) and Social and Emotional Aspects of Learning (SEAL) curricula.
Autorenporträt
Sue Ellis has been working in the world of education for over thirty years, formerly as a secondary school teacher, followed by a Behaviour and Attendance adviser and now a visiting lecturer. She has a wide experience of listening to children's views and frustrations from the pupils she has taught, and bringing up her own two children. Sue has written these stories for children to enjoy reading about quirky, sassy birds making their way in life through good times and bad, making positive decisions. Sue hopes that her readers will then discuss their feelings about the stories and learn, in turn, to make positive decisions in their own lives. Sue was born in Liverpool and spent her early years in Crosby. She has lived in York with her husband and family for over thirty years.
