Autorenporträt
David Robert Mohr was born in New Haven CT, USA in July of 1962. He became interested in music and stage from a very young age. His first performance was on stage in 4th grade where he had the lead role in the play: The Crab That Played With The Sea. He wrote his 1st song in the 3rd grade about a robin. Inspiration for the song came after hearing a song from a then famous film. His love moved to the musical side of entertainment from that point on. Continuing to cultivate his love for music, He continued analyzing lyrics, melodies, backing vocals, harmonies & instrumentation. Learning dozens of songs & following charts he found he could pick new songs that would be hits. Connecting with the right people and forming a band called "Don't Walk" David was the lead singer and drummer. The band covered many songs by many artists paving the way for development of his talent. As years passed, David found himself doing more writing, but not being able to put his songs to music. David decided it was time to branch off on his own and learn an instrument other then the percussive ones while continuing to improve his voice. During a personal tragedy, David found himself out in Texas for a short time where he re-connected with an old band mate. They started another band where David was again the drummer and lead singer. After much convincing, encouragement & the gift of a guitar (and a promise to learn to play it) from that ole band mate, David left the drum kit and set out to learn the guitar, thus making it possible for him to put music to the lyrics he has been creating. In addition, David continually found himself writing stories in his mind that he just never seemed to have to the time to commit to paper. Having told some of his stories to friends, he was convinced that he needed to put them down in writing for others to enjoy. Scrapping enough cash to get a laptop computer, David then had the tool he needed to bring his creative writing to life. Many nights he would sit in a local restaurant until the place closed (and on 3 or four occasions even after it closed) putting down his thoughts. This lead the the creation of many story lines that are currently being developed into books. Currently, David is working on 5 more novels and a screen play. His laptop is definitely kept busy. David continues to showcase his talent through out the cities in which he lives and travels. He can always be found with a song in his heart and a tune echoing through his lips.
