Quality is of crucial value at any company in the textile industry,it is reflected on customers and what they say will affect the performance and continuity of the company.The purpose of this research was to find out the factors that led to the production of poor quality garments at DST complex in Gweru,Zimbabwe.The researcher used questionnaires,observations and face to face interviews to collect data.The major findings from the research were that they lacked financial resources,skilled personnel and advanced technology to produce quality garments.This research was done at a time when Zimbabwe was facing serious economic challenges to such an extend that other problems were macroeconomic in nature but the major ones are those mentioned by the respondents.Businesses are usually affected when a country is facing economic challenges.

Tarirai Chaduka Dandira did a Certificate in Education at the then Gweru Teachers' College,did a degree majoring in textiles at Midlands State University.She completed a Masters degree with the University of Zimbabwe majoring in in textiles.She taught in different schools including Chaplin High School in Gweru.Currently she is a lecturer at CUT.
