It is a great honour to compose the Eurasian Silk Road Universities Consortium-ESRUC in 2010. The attended institutions of the first and second ESRUC Conventions are the founding institutions of ESRUC Consortium. ESRUC Consortium Headquarters and Secretariat are located at Atatürk University, Erzurum/Turkey. The Consortium is governed by a balanced Executive Committee consisting of the president, the secretary general and 8 other representatives of founding institutions from every part of the world. Global meetings of the ESRUC Consortium is hosted every year by different institutions. ESRUC will work as a collaborative framework for capacity building and raising the profile of Consortium members that is sustainable, responsible and internationally competitive. Atatürk University wishes ESRUC Consortium continued success in the arduous attempt.

Hikmet KOCAK, born in Erzurum Province/Turkey, has more than 250 publications in the field of Cardio Vascular Surgery. Dr. KOCAK was appointed to the Rector of Ataturk University in June 2008 and re-elected in June 2012 for his second term. He is also the President of Eurasian Silk Road Universities Consortium (ESRUC) and Turkic Universities Union
