Malaria is an endemic public health tropical disease which account for over two-third infant mortality and about one-third maternal morbidity and mortality in Sub-Sahara Africa. Intermittent Prevention Treatment of Malaria Provides information on most innovative methods of ensuring effective treatment of malaria. Malaria in pregnancy is a serious problem in the tropics. Its consequences include maternal, fetal and neonatal morbidity and mortality. Although Intermittent Preventive Treatment (IPT) is effective in preventing malaria in pregnancy, little is known about health workers knowledge of it as well as their compliance with its guidelines. This study therefore assessed the level of knowledge, perception and practices of IPT of malaria among health workers in Nigeria. IPT is a better malaria prevention intervention than the old chemo-prophylactic measure. I recommend this thesis to clinicians, public health experts and researchers.
