This work is a contribution to the prediction and evaluation of seam nip of a denim garment prior to production. For this purpose, we chose experimental designs with material and seam parameters (fabric basis weight, stitch density and sewing thread count) as input parameters and seam nip as output parameter. From the analysis of the main effects curves and the interaction curves of the input parameters, as well as the analysis of variance, we have shown the significance and importance of the input parameters and their interactions on the sewing quality parameter. Produktbeschreibung
Following this result, based on the linear regression method, we determined a model for each fabric group and each sewing direction. This model was practically validated. Seam quality prediction guarantees the garment maker the desired quality from the very first stroke, so less time and raw material is wasted. As a result, there will be less loss of manufacturing cost.
