Eli, a five-year-old Kindergarten student, is met with uncertainty when he prepares for his first day of school. Eli's mother and older sister help him when he faces a problem at school. Mom's concern for Eli grows stronger as she relies on her faith to comfort him. Eli learns a lesson on prayer. This story teaches children accountability, how to communicate effectively, and how having a positive attitude can predict positive outcomes. In doing so, it brings families together in solidarity. This has worked for me through my personal experiences growing up as well as from a parenting standpoint. As a mother of two and an Early Childcare Development major, I am qualified to discuss the importance of educating children and why introducing prayer at a young age with the intent that they will have prosperous futures is an effective method. As a former childcare instructor, I have learned that children grow accustomed to behaviors that they are taught and consistently practice daily. Proverbs 22:6 says, "Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old, he will not depart from it."
