Produktbeschreibung
Berry Simpson stands at the summit of the Guadalupe Mountains and gazes out across the vast panorama of the Sonoran Desert. "It's breathtaking in its raw unconcern for the hiker," he writes. "Oddly enough, that indifference speaks to my heart." It's one of many perspectives that have, over the decades, shaped the author's life. Eloquently, with a penetrating but gentle eye and many a smile-because, as he learned from his dad, "there's always a joke"-Berry examines the things that make for family, faith, personal growth, and lifelong love. Practicing Faith is a book both adventurous and wise. With the intimacy of a memoir, it threads back and forth across years and events, taking you on high-country trails, international concert tours, urban marathons, and inside church, heritage, leadership, grandkids, and the perennial romance between Berry and his beloved wife, Cyndi. By story and honest reflection, this book invites you to live your own life from the heart, big and genuine, taking the risks and reaping the blessings of practicing faith.
