The purpose of this research is to assess the housing scenario, the Brazilian energy situation and the increase in energy demand based on expected population growth and the urban concentration generated by the Minha Casa Minha Vida Programme. It also considers other relevant research and statistical data, seeking to relate this information to economic, social and environmental issues. The aim is to generate subsidies for a proposal aimed at energy production through decentralisation, generating fruitful results in the supply of renewable energy, sustainable residential energy consumption, the labour market and environmental maintenance. As a result, the aim is to demonstrate that photovoltaic solar energy is the technology best suited to the country's current needs and to the guidelines and laws in force, showing the proportion of possible gains between them and their relationship with economic, social and environmental impacts.

Johanatan W. Rodriguez est chargé de cours dans les domaines de la construction civile technique et du génie civil à l'IFSP, à Caraguatatuba. Il a coordonné le domaine Infrastructure/Construction civile et l'équipe des projets institutionnels. Il a été membre des comités d'activités pédagogiques et du comité qui a élaboré le nouveau projet pédagogique du cours de construction.
