This study is a cross-sectional study that was performed in the primary health care clinics at Nablus district in Palestine in 2013 to screen recently delivering women for postpartum depression (PPD) using the famous widely used Edinburgh Postnatal Depression Scale (EPDS). The results showed that 1 in 5 new mothers screen positive for PPD, a significant percentage that needs more attention from health care workers and health policy makers in this high-tension, permanently-in-conflict area of the world.
