Then the chapters follow suit with issues, like the use and abuse of the 1970 and 1973 UN resolutions and their meaning, including the non-flying zone, the Arab League stance into the Libyan conflict and the international intervention. In the second part, it searches into the impact of the Libyan regime's collapse on stability and security in North Africa and the African desert sahel and diagnoses the crisis in Mali. It looks intothe Tuareg Azwad rebellion and other armed groups, like Ansar Al Dine, The Movement For Oneness and Jihad In West Africa, (MUJAO) and Ansar Al Sharia including other Al Qaeda affiliate groups.

A. Derradji ist außerordentlicher Professor und Wissenschaftler mit Fachwissen über politische Gewalt in den internationalen Beziehungen. Er hat einen Licence (BA Hons), einen MA und einen PhD in Politik und internationalen Beziehungen. Er hat an der University of Reading (Vereinigtes Königreich) und im Ausland zahlreiche Vorlesungen und Forschungsarbeiten zu aktuellen Themen gehalten.
