"The night I landed on Planet Single, I had no idea I was about to blast off from the familiar married landscape. If I'd known, I could have packed a few essentials like some nicer undies, a dating guidebook, and a much thicker skin, but I didn't have the chance. I was dumped - defenceless - into a strange new world." Meet Katerina - mother-of-two, chronic daydreamer, and soon-to-be ex-wife. After losing her marriage and reclaiming her name in one surprising night, Kat realizes that being single again is a whole new learning curve. Things have certainly changed. You can shop online for men now, with a bewildering array of choice, but there doesn't seem to be a refund policy. Was looking for love always this complicated? Determined to create a better life from the train-wreck of her marriage, Kat sets off to find out who she really is, meeting a succession of dodgy dates, two contrary inner voices, and a handsome detective along the way - as well as a whole tribe of young and sexy colleagues. Get ready for an emotional rollercoaster ride of dating adventure, laugh-out-loud humour, and heart-wrenching moments. Will Kat ever find what she's looking for?
Autorenporträt
Maggie McGuinness has always been fascinated by people and the ways they relate to each other. Now, after years of observing and experiencing life in all its wonderful, messy glory - it's time to write about it! Maggie lives in a corner of Australia in a remote coastal village, surrounded by the ocean and beautiful native forests. Her housemates are a very cute rescue dog called Tilly, and Mr Tibbs, a cranky old cat who moved in under the house and wouldn't leave. (He's not silly - he now gets prime position in front of the open fire.) She writes and edits in the business world for a living, but longs to be able to sit at home all day in PJs, drinking tea and writing fiction. Maggie's hobbies are walking Tilly on the beach, learning the art of wood splitting, and perfecting her own extreme sport of combining Zumba and cooking.
