Sugar production is a seasonal operation in India. As much pure water used in all operation generates equal amount of polluted water. These contaminations are measured in characterization stage which were performed according to AWWA, APHA, and are also trying to minimize by various physico-chemical treatments like coagulation, flocculation and precipitation. Milan M Lakdawala, titulaire d'un M Phil, d'un Ph D et d'un B Ed, est associée à la recherche en sciences de l'environnement et en sciences chimiques, en particulier à l'analyse des eaux usées et des eaux souterraines, ainsi qu'à l'analyse des sols et du charbon. Elle participe au projet sur les sols du gouvernement du Gujarat. Elle a publié près de 25 articles de recherche et 7 livres dans des publications nationales et internationales.
