All these benefits accruing because the system has the value and ability in providing the employee data for decision-making, promotion, training, development, work motivation, potential-spotting,job design or counseling. In the quest to bring about desired results,the Ministry of Education in Zambia is not an exception in the implementation of performance appraisal system. This work, therefore, is an in-depth assessment of the implementation of performance appraisal system for teachers in Zambia.Four key aspects in good performance appraisal implementation were assessed. The assessment should give a clear picture on the implementation to education stakeholders

Michael Mulaisho was born in Zambia and is a teacher employed by the Ministry of Education.He obtained his certificate in teaching at Malcolm Maffat teacher's training college(2001),bachelor's degree in developmentstudies at Zambian Open University(2009)and Masters of Arts in Human Resource Management at at Copperbelt University(2012).
