This study analyses the change in the perception of dental students when attending patients with disabilities (PwD). A reflection of the appreciation of this knowledge can be seen in the change in perception regarding the needs for a professional career in this speciality, which has become more of a training than a vocation.

Danielle R. B. da Silva ist Zahnärztin mit Abschluss an der UFPE. Márcia Maria V. B. V. ist Fachärztin für Kinderzahnheilkunde, Master in Zahnheilkunde und hat einen Doktortitel in Ernährung. Derzeit ist sie außerordentliche Professorin an der UFPE. Cleysiane G. Farias ist Fachzahnärztin für Parodontologie und öffentliche Gesundheit. Master in klinischer Zahnmedizin.
