How can philosophy help drive fundamental values to understand today's society? What role do critical thinking and the humanities play in day-to-day business management? How can we move from reflection to action and give meaning to our life and work? Pensadoras y visionarias shows how business decisions are not just based on abstract theories or models, but reflect the functioning of a company and the management philosophy it follows. Santiago Íñiguez de Onzoño, president of IE University, turns to the greatest women philosophers in modern history to help us bring purpose and meaning back to the work environment and to management education. From Iris Murdoch's emphasis on compassion, to Hannah Arendt's work to make the world more humane, to Adela Cortina's remarkable studies of business ethics and corporate social responsibility, each philosopher can, in a very practical way, help build a fruitful way of approaching our personal and professional lives. Replete with examples, personal stories and anecdotes from some of the world's most influential companies and businesswomen, this book examines how the contributions of women philosophers hold up in the real world by helping to drive inclusion, diversity, interpersonal relationships and, ultimately, innovation in the business world.
