Autorenporträt
Philip J Damiani spent most of his career practicing professional engineering/management and as the CEO of DQE Energy Services (DES), developed eleven Energy Projects that traverse two countries and four states. The flagship project, the Detroit Airport Energy Center, was envisioned in 1998 through a national request for proposal (RFP) solicited by Northwest Airlines who was subsequently absorbed into Delta Air Lines, Inc. by a merger in 2008. Eight Energy Services Firms competed to develop, own and operate this Energy Center and DES won the bid by submitting the most innovative and cost effective 30-year energy services proposal. The Energy Center was placed into service in February 2002. As a semi-retired professional, Philip was motivated to take a bedtime story he imagined and told to his daughters many years ago and write a children's book entitled "Penny Penguin Finds Her Way Home." It was a labor of love to memorialize his daughter's favorite story and to give the net royalties from the book to the Mario Lemieux Foundation which is dedicated to raising funds for cancer research and patient care, as well as Austin's Playrooms, an initiative that creates playrooms for children and families in medical facilities. Philip is currently working on a new home building book to ensure the Owner has a satisfying experience with the Contractor and not a "misadventure." Philip designed and constructed many commercial and industrial Facilities during his career and designed and built his current home in PA using his engineering background with 3D-CADD in 2005. He recently finished a design for a home in Sarasota, FL which came in under budget and should be completed before the end of 2019. His motto has always been "Do it Right the First Time."
