J. Elizaga is a fan of science fiction and science mysteries. Born and raised in Manila, Philippines, she peered over her father's shoulders as he watched TV shows such as In Search Of, and Carl Sagan's Cosmos during the 1970s. J. holds a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering with additional studies in instructional design. She continues to live and work in California. J. used to write stories during in high school but had set that aside for college and career. That was the case until she attended a writer's conference in San Francisco in 2010. The experience unsealed a door in her mind that she thought had long closed. J. cherishes the folklore, tales and stories learned while growing up in the Pacific islands, and has taken to writing about fictional characters with extraordinary gifts that supersize their human abilities.
