In Tunisia, the use of medicinal plants is widely accepted and occupies a major place in the treatment of various diseases. Our study allowed us to conclude the beneficial effects of the administration of the aqueous and ethanoic extract of Rose Geranium in the prevention of the toxic effects of free radicals during oxidative stress. This work allowed us to reach the following conclusion: We evaluated the antioxidant activity of the aqueous and ethanoic extract, furthermore, our results show that the extract of the plant (Pelargonium graveolens) causes an improvement of the antioxidant status at tissue level (liver, kidney, brain, pancreas). Indeed, the decrease in the concentration of MDA, increase in the level of thiol group (GSH), superoxide dismutase (SOD) activity and catalase (CAT) activity at the tissue level (liver, kidney, brain, pancreas) in mice treated with the extract show the antioxidant properties of Pelargonium graveolens. In conclusion, Pelargonium graveolens is a plant rich in therapeutic compounds.
