The Department of Health estimates that about £300M of medicines (Triggle, 2011) get wasted each year in England as a result of patients not taking their medication properly.Computing technology has shown in recent times that its application can provide better services to the medical sector. The researcher aims to develop a mobile application - PillPod - which would remind patients to take their medication on time and also provide details of the medication to the patients. This software is to be developed for a firm - LornaLou Ltd - based in the UK.In addition, the researcher has chosen to investigate the most feasible development process applicable to this software development with the aim of proposing a better software development methodology which can be applied in the development of software systems exhibiting the characteristics of this software project.
