The third and final component to the Patient Better Self-Managing Program¿. This book focuses on relationship building and self-managing care for both in-person and virtual medical office visits. Synopsis Gone are the days when a physician would come to your home to check on your medical needs. Those house calls were the optimal solution for personalized attention delivered from the comfort and convenience of home. When a health professional came to your home, you were relieved of the stress of dressing for the appointment, commuting, and waiting with and on others for treatment. Today, the traditional house call has almost become extinct, but with virtual healthcare medical professionals can visit you at home and deliver the same quality of service as a face-to-face medical appointment. With remote medical technology, all you need is an internet connection and a computer, tablet, or smartphone to get a consultation, receive a diagnosis, and get prescriptions, with extended service hours to work around your schedule. Thus, you can take better care of your condition in a fraction of time as a face-to-face appointment. Patient Better: The Remote Companion for Self-Health Management supplies you and your caregiving team with the personal medical management skills needed to participate in long-distance care. Telemedicine provides an affordable alternative to an in-person medical office visit and expands the reach of providers' services to the undeserved, the disabled, and those who live in rural areas. With this addition to Patient Better's program, we'll take your self-managing skills to the next level and make collaborating in-person and virtual medical care possible. Patient Better empowers the healthcare industry by acquiring an additional resource into the mix of those who deliver care. Patient Better preforms this by providing the education (for both in-person and virtual medical office visits) that focuses on improving the patient's and informal caregiver's ability to manage care, heighten health literacy skills, improve communication, and supplies them with the knowledge needed to properly create and organize their health story in a way that providers can quickly and easily obtain the relevant information.
