Rural women are considered as a noticeable potential in the community either in agricultural or household sector. Their participation in agricultural and household activities is very high. Therefore the present investigation was taken to study the participation of rural women in agricultural and household activities. A total number of 150 respondents were selected from district Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh. The maximum number of rural women were found participating in agricultural activities, like irrigation process, land preparation, winnowing, sowing and storage of grains, etc., while in dairying activities, they participated mostly in collection and preparation of cattle feed, milking of animals etc. In household activities, they were found involved in sanitation, child caring, preparation of cow-dung, food preservation etc. The constraints faced by them were lack of training program, less exposure, illiteracy, lack of social mobility etc. Training facilities should be provided to rural women for their better participation. The educational venture must be provided for women to increase the level of participation in agricultural and household activities.
