Lots of money could be made from cassava in providing the nation foreign exchange through the export of its products. Cassava is a kind of crop if not processed within 2 to 3 days after harvest, the crop begins to deteriorate. The peeling of cassava has been a major bottleneck in the cassava processing industry in Nigeria thereby reducing the quantity of cassava meant to be processed into finished products per day in meeting the amount needed for export purpose. This study tends to show the various effort made by individuals, institutions and other bodies in providing several solutions to the peeling of cassava in Nigeria.

Engr. Opeyemi Adeniyi, OYELADE has just completed his Ph.D. programme at the University of Ilorin, Ilorin, Kwara State, Nigeria in the Department of Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering. He is an Assistant Chief Agricultural Engineer (ACAE) at the National Centre for Agricultural Mechanization (NCAM), Ilorin. He is happily married with children.
