The book chronicles Zeek's time in Memphis as a hairdresser and art school student and follows him to Fayetteville where he established a thriving salon. Settling in the historic artist community of Eureka Springs, Arkansas, Zeek shares the emotional story of his marriage to his long-time partner, Dick.
