Ostrock is rock music from the formerly communist East Germany. The word derives from the German word "ost" (meaning east), and "rock" (as in rock music). City is a German rock band, formed in East Berlin in 1972, best known for the song "Am Fenster" (At The Window or by the window) from its 1978 first album. Feeling B was a German punk rock band. They were known as being one of the first punk bands in the former German Democratic Republic (East Germany). The band was founded in Berlin in 1983 and started out firmly grounded in the underground punk scene.
