The major concern of this research work is to optimize the circumstances surrounding the welding of heavy thickness titanium alloy plates. Therefore, investigating the welding conditions during the GTAW of titanium (Ti-6Al-4V) alloys using GTAW is carried out by adopting a robust design of the response surface methodology (RSM), Box-Behnken and analysis of variances (ANOVA). In addition, the micro structure analysis and mechanical tests of a weldment during experiments are evaluated for better understanding of the changes in the structure of the titanium alloys.

Master Degree in welding technology and PhD in metals and welding technology from Tenaga Nasional University (UNITEN), Malaysia.
