Produktbeschreibung
Lucille isn't like the other cows on Farmer Charlie's spread. She doesn't want to stand around all day chewing cud. She longs to run in a real race, just like Thunder, Charlie's prize racehorse. Lucille's ambitions only confuse the other cows. Even Thunder can hardly conceal his contempt when he reminds Lucille that she is only a cow. Lucille doesn't care. One day, when Charlie takes them all to the fair, Lucille stumbles onto the race track and lines up at the starting gate. But Lucille soon learns that cows are not like horses at all. The track is much longer than she imagined, and soon Lucille is exhausted as the other horses leave her in the dust. How will Lucille find the strength to finish the race? A winning text by Arlene Hamilton is accompanied by artist Dean Griffiths' delightful paintings of kindly farmers, galloping equines, and mostly-placid bovines.
