Old Ghosts of New England is an intriguing traveler's and ghost-hunter's guide to the many places throughout the region where spirits are rumored to roam. It delves deeply into the histories of New England's most notorious haunted places-whether inns, restaurants, lighthouses, museums, parks, graveyards, or schools-and provides directions to reach each one so you can conduct your own paranormal investigations. New England holds so many attractions for travelers, including a world beyond our own that some believe in but relatively few have explored. For example, thousands visit the stunning Newport, RI, mansions each year, but how many of them know where to look for the homes' spectral inhabitants? If you'd like to catch a glimpse of the headless ghost that runs through the woods in Gay City State Park in Bolton, CT, or visit historic Salem, MA, and maybe meet the specter of accused warlock Giles Corey, this book is for you! Armchair travelers looking for a good scary read will also enjoy Old Ghosts of New England-if the tale of ghostly children haunting a lighthouse in Prospect Harbor, ME, or stories of the ghost inhabiting the Country Tavern in Nashua, NH, who smashes glasses and plates before patrons' eyes, don't make the hair on the back of your neck stand on end, maybe accounts of the vindictive ghost of a woman scorned who aggressively haunts the Gold Brook Bridge in Stowe, VT, will.
