This book describes the Object Recognition problem and its implementation using Cellular Neural Networks on Digital Signal Processor. Problem specific to an electrical application is discussed in detail i.e., High Voltage Insulation System Partial Discharge (PD). Also, likewise applications are discussed in the chapter for future scope of work. Partial Discharge phenomenon is highly stochastic in nature and requires extensive human intervention to determine the condition of the insulation system. Whether the intervened data is indicating the failure of the Electrical Insulation System (EIS) and its degree of failure or no failure. This book gives the same capabilities to a dedicated computer to determine whether the insulation system is in deleterious state and if so to what extent, in here numerical analysis and pictorial analysis is carried out on the PD data. The setup for data acquisition was carried out at Central Power Research Institute (CPRI), Bangalore, Diagnostic Cablesand Capacitors Division (DCCD).
