Sholem Aleichem created the original Tevye the Dairyman of Broadway and Hollywood fame. Ted Gorelick's translation of S. Y. Abramovitsh's classic Fishke the Lame won him critical acclaim. Ken Frieden is B. G. Rudolph Professor of Judaic Studies at Syracuse University.
