Are you an individual Talent Development professional, a skilled employee with in depth experience of a job or you aced the interview and finally landed your first job. Talent Developers are challenged with capturing job content to develop learning experiences for employees in new jobs. New Job? Fast Start! is an informative guide that teaches you to focus on critical elements in a job. Author Les Cowie provides an "X-ray view" of a typical job and seven critical steps to follow. He explains how to define your work environment by learning the internal workspace and familiarizing yourself with external communications. Additionally, you'll discover how to document important tasks and create helpful checklists. You'll also learn how to anticipate and prevent possible mistakes at work. Finally, you'll find out how to identify and focus on your most important job responsibilities. Master those, and you'll make a lasting impression!
Autorenporträt
Les Cowie immigrated to the United States from South Africa, where he taught technological skills to people with limited or poor access to education. For twenty-seven years, he's worked with venture capital groups and corporations to acquire, develop, and sell businesses in manufacturing, commercial, and service enterprises. Cowie has also created an innovative approach to presenting training for process improvement and talent development. His instructional tools use web-based videos and digital job-related simulators. He initially developed the seven steps described in New Job? Fast Start! when his daughter had to learn a new job in four days. Using Cowie's process, she quickly excelled in her position. Cowie was a loving husband before losing his wife, Fran, to cancer in March 2017. He is the proud father of three grown children: Rob (producer of The Blair Witch Project), Colette, and Ian. Cowie currently resides in Orlando, Florida.
